Text-to-Speech is a Chromebook feature that reads the content of a webpage aloud.


To Enable Text-to-Speech

  1. Click on the System Tray (where the clock is in the bottom right corner)
  2. Click on the Settings icon (gear at the top right on that window)
  3. Search for Accessibility
  4. Select Manage Accessibility Features

  5. Toggle Enable Select-to-Speak to On
  6. Close the Settings window

To Use Text-to-Speech

  1. Highlight text on a website by selecting with your cursor or pressing CTRL + A to select all
  2. Press Search + S (the Search key is the magnifying glass key above the left shift key)
