Filters allow you to automatically sort and organize your email. Other email applications may call them "rules".
- Open Gmail and login if necessary.
- Click the gear icon and select Settings.
- Click Filters and Blocked Addresses from the top.
- Click Create a new filter.
- Select how you’d like the mail to be filtered. Common ways to filter include:
- Contains the word "unsubscribe"
- From "newsletters@hamptonpark.org"
- Sent to "johndoe+junk@hamptonpark.org"
- Click Create filter with this search.
- Check Skip the Inbox and Apply the label.
- Select an existing label or create a new one.
- Press Create filter. Optionally, you can apply this to your archived mail by checking the box next to the Create filter button.
